The Municipal Competence and Advisory Center offers a monthly online consultation hour, in which employees from municipalities in the Rhenish mining area have the opportunity to exchange ideas with our subject matter experts and with each other on questions concerning renewable energies.

In this compact, informal online format, current questions are to be discussed quickly and practically, and space is to be created for the exchange of experience between municipalities.

AUFBRUCH unites three universities, three universities of applied sciences, one research institution, and one innovation network for the first time in a future-oriented graduate cluster, funded with 12.5 million euros by the BMBF.

The goal: To enable doctoral candidates through interdisciplinary training and inspiration for founding companies to actively shape the transformation in the Rhenish mining area. Breaking down boundaries between disciplines, actors, and fields of expertise to realize a sustainable bioeconomy in the region - that's what AUFBRUCH achieves.

The free AI Roadshow shows, using practical examples, what possibilities AI offers for business processes and new business approaches. Small and medium-sized enterprises as well as start-ups receive orientation, regional expertise and the opportunity for direct exchange with experts.

What is it about?

Two hours, concrete insights and new impulses for your own business: The AI Roadshow shows at four locations in Alsdorf, Düren, Euskirchen and Heinsberg how companies can use Artificial Intelligence sensibly. Practical examples make possible areas of application tangible, while regional experts provide orientation and are available for personal exchange. The offer is industry-neutral and tailored to the requirements of small and medium-sized enterprises.



Who is the event intended for?

The Roadshow is aimed at managing directors, digitalization managers as well as department heads from small and medium-sized enterprises – for example from production, sales, marketing, service or IT.

Practical Impulse for Greater Digital Independence & Data Sovereignty

How independent are companies and public institutions actually from individual technology providers? And what possibilities are there to reduce digital dependencies without forgoing practical & powerful solutions?

It is about digital sovereignty & the question of how companies & public institutions can gain more control over their data & digital work processes. Participants receive a clear overview of where dependencies arise in the digital everyday life & which European alternatives to common digital services are already available today.

Based on concrete examples, practical solutions are presented that can be used in everyday work – clear, application-oriented & without tech-buzzwords. The aim is not to fundamentally question existing systems, but to enable conscious decisions about digital technologies & to expand scope for action.

Together we look at how greater data sovereignty and digital independence step by step can be achieved.

This event is organized by the Rhineland Future Agency: The CARE (Climate-Neutral and Resource-Efficient Construction) Cluster of Excellence, a joint initiative of RWTH Aachen University and TU Dresden, aims to drive transformation in the construction industry. On our exploration, we will discover innovative building materials, construction principles, and manufacturing technologies that pave the way to climate-friendly and sustainable construction.

This event is presented by the Rhineland Future Agency: Experience how research becomes a business model: Schiffer Metall- & Vakuumtechnik GmbH is transferring the laboratory production of SOEC stacks from the Jülich Research Centre to small-scale industrial series production. In doing so, the company is opening up a new business area and demonstrating how innovations from science strengthen the region's economic power.
