zdi-Netzwerk Stadt Aachen und Kreis HeinsbergThe zdi network Aachen and Heinsberg district is part of the state-wide initiative "Zukunft durch Innovation" (zdi) and wants to inspire young people in the Aachen region and Heinsberg district for STEM subjects (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Technology).
In cooperation with schools, universities, companies, and research institutions, the network offers practice-oriented workshops, excursions, competitions, and research projects. A focus lies on the targeted promotion of girls, young women, and other female and male students who are less frequently found in STEM, in order to strengthen diversity in the field. The network creates connections between education and the economy and thus supports regional innovation development and the securing of skilled workers.
