Our contribution to the educational network in the Rhineland

Skilled Worker Network: Network events provide you with relevant information on the topic of "recruiting and retaining skilled workers." Are you a managing director, owner, or responsible for human resources/skilled workers in your company/institution? Then become part of our skilled worker network and receive invitations to network meetings! The "ScienceTube Rhein-Erft" student video competition: In times of skilled worker shortages, it is more important than ever to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in particular, in becoming "visible" to their target audience! The goal is to connect the skilled workers of tomorrow with companies in the district and with the shortage occupations. To strengthen STEM professions (with a focus on mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or technology), the administration of the Rhein-Erft district, together with the WFG, has launched an annual student video competition: ScienceTube Rhein-Erft. Give interested students an insight into your company and take advantage of the opportunity to meet the skilled workers of tomorrow! Video competition for vocational colleges: Enjoying a career with promising prospects is an important goal for future skilled workers when choosing a career. But which professions can offer this and will continue to be in demand in the future? What role does digital transformation play in this? While students grapple with what careers have to offer, companies must focus on recruiting skilled workers and trainees for changing job profiles. The video competition "Job4futuRE - My Perspective in the Rhein-Erft District" brings both groups together and was offered for the second time this year for vocational colleges in the Rhein-Erft district. Azufi - the trainee finder for Cologne and the Rhein-Erft district: Azufi is a project in which companies advertise for trainees on a digital platform. With this free online placement portal for school students, it is not the students who look for training positions, but the companies who look for suitable trainees. Career Exploration (BFE): Career Exploration (BFE) is an important step for students on their path to career choice. BFE days in a company are designed to give them an insight into everyday working life and provide initial insights into various career fields. Use is free for companies. Perspective Paper on the Rhine-Erft Education Region: Education is a key resource for the future viability of the Rhine-Erft district. It increases both the employer's own employability and the competitiveness of companies. Both are factors that are significantly influenced by local structural change and digitalization, particularly in the Rhine-Erft district. Against this backdrop, a resilient educational landscape is essential. The evaluation of the Rhine-Erft Education Region begins with this point: comparing future business needs with existing training offerings at vocational colleges and neighboring universities and identifying measures for how and with what means these can be improved. The results and recommendations for action are based on broad participation from a wide range of stakeholders and are intended to serve as starting points for potential further development of the Rhine-Erft Education Region.
